Children from Trinity St Mary’s C of E Primary School attend Public Speaking Competition at Anglia Ruskin University
On Thursday, 23rd March seven children from our Year 4 were selected to participate in a Public Speaking competition at Anglia Ruskin University. From beginning to end, the day was a complete success. Georgia, winner of the poetry competition had her poem read out, line by line by a member of each of the 14 schools – including Neive who delivered the final line of the poem with great expression and passion. Georgia did a fantastic job at presenting her poem to the judges and delivering a speech herself!
Next, our Captain: Archie, Chair: Mika, Questioner: Ryan and Speaker: Nancy blew the judges and audience away with a phenomenal team performance. Each member fulfilled their role with the upmost pride and confidence and I could not have been more proud of them all. Isabella was a key member of the ‘Management Team’, ensuring that everything ran smoothly on the day and her PA skills were top-notch!
The children were treated as professionals and were true ambassadors for the school. After much hard work, determination and practise at both school and home, we are incredibly proud to announce that we came second overall, out of 14 different schools!
A huge well done to all of Year 4 who all contributed to the final speech and the brave children who delivered and took part on the day. I felt we truly deserved the award and all the hard work paid off.
