Tri Golf Sessions at Three Rivers Golf Club

Tri Golf with Sarah Bennett

The very successful schools link project between Three Rivers Golf & Country Club  & the William De Ferrers School Partnership where Sarah Bennett PGA Head Teaching Professional introduced over 240 children to golf with the Tri Golf programme, has now taken a step further.

The children from Trinity St Marys Primary School, South Woodham Ferrers have now progressed and received follow on lessons with Sarah at Three Rivers Golf Club which is a nationally accredited Golf Mark club. The experience of this new environment is invaluable for the children with Three Rivers boasting superb practice and playing facilities for the experienced and new golfer.

The club was named Golf Mark club of the year in 2010 due to its coaching initiatives and introduction to golf programmes, which Sarah is still very heavily involved in.

The children received 4 hours of free coaching with AA Head Teaching Professional , TPI Junior L2 and former Ladies European Tour player Sarah, “ I introduced a complete  mix of elements into the four weeks even incorporating parts of the newly launched Junior Passport which is only currently available at five clubs in Essex”.

I received excellent feedback from the children and I hope to continue with the coaching at the club advancing the children to the course in the near future.  After the first session one of the children asked his parents for some clubs for his birthday!

Mr Jiggins, a parent from Trinity St Mary’s Primary School, South Woodham Ferrers commented “ Alfie thoroughly enjoyed the four week coaching class run by Sarah, indeed as a result he has now signed up for a series of private one to one lessons with her. I actually observed a couple of the sessions and the children all clearly enjoyed themselves”

Junior golf is an area that I am very keen to develop and already coach three county players and hold the annual England Golf National Skills Challenge which is great fun for all levels and a key event in my diary

My thanks must go to the schools and the schools partnership I have worked with for their ongoing support with my goal to continue with my excellent working relationship with the primary schools offering further coaching and half term activities.
